Wood, veneers
and finishes

All of our woods and veneers, however unusual or exotic, come from FSC certified suppliers.

This is a small sample of wood and veneers we have used recently.

All of our lacquering and staining is done ‘in-house’, giving us complete and utter control of not only the external finish, but also, importantly, the internal carcase finish too. It’s quite incredible how the same wood can have a just a slight variation in stain, lacquer, or gloss level and look so markedly different. Having this control is so important, as different settings will often require a different finish. A bit like using paint, really.

When using internal drawer linings with lighter woods, such as oak or maple, we tend to use lighter skins – as shown here with faux ostrich Bisque. For darker woods ie Macassar, black walnut etc, we tend to use darker skins such as the faux ostrich Latte.
