Kitchen – Berkshire

As with all Cleary & Hall designs, this kitchen in Cookham Dean is beautifully weighted and balanced; the epitome of understated design. Predominantly hand painted in light blue/grey, the paints were deliberately mixed with a touch of ‘warmer’ colours, so as to appear pastel cool, but not cold.

The pewter Aga was selected over black, as the latter would have had a too ‘heavy’ a feel. The trademark oak accents bring an injection of warmth – whilst signifying different usage; tactile and warm wood to the seating area, Caesarstone to the main working areas.

Further trademark mirror splash-backs, coupled with the glass behind the Aga feature shelf reflect the light – and the wonderful views through the pairs of concertina doors.

By stepping the heights of the wall cabinets adjacent to the Aga meant a 2 zone induction hob could be used, with extractor above. This, along with a combination microwave- oven fitted into the island, facing the Aga, means the Aga can be turned off in the warmer months.
