Where design dovetails with engineering, this magnificent floor-to-ceiling book and display cabinet was constructed from dark, satin stained black walnut, with individual mirrors to each section; Latte faux ostrich skin lining to each shelf.

With curved centre and mirror plinth to disguise the hidden secret of this piece, the top section is static, allowing the centre section below to travel. Carrying something in the order of a quarter of a ton, the hinge-points and pivot hinges themselves were critical.

The result?

Effortless opening into the ‘secret’ room beyond.
