Made as free-standing pieces for a study, the combination of materials were used to stunning effect.

The black walnut frames were stained to match the lighter colour of the macassar veneers. The desk is gracefully curved, with 4 x working drawers on the left hand side, central pen drawer, and 2 x filing drawers to the right hand side – made as 4 to visually balance with the other side. The other cabinet houses a large printer that can be pulled out, fully, or conveniently stowed when not in use. The hand-woven polished metal mesh has a special black ‘acoustic’ fabric behind. Both pieces have a polished metal plinth, to give a ‘floating’ appearance.
