Warwickshire: Georgian Grade I Listed
In the heart of Warwickshire, Cleary & Hall undertook a series of projects within this exceptional Grade I listed Georgian home. Our work demonstrates a sensitive balance between historical integrity and contemporary functionality, blending period character with modern luxury across multiple living spaces. The scope included a complete kitchen redesign to work in harmony with a new orangery, alongside the creation of a family snug, refined bedrooms and bathrooms, dedicated study areas, and cohesive renovations throughout the house. Each space was thoughtfully designed to respect the home’s heritage whilst supporting the needs of modern living.
The Kitchen:
A Symphony of Heritage and Innovation
The introduction of a new orangery transformed the home and prompted a comprehensive kitchen redesign. Our challenge was to create a kitchen that flowed seamlessly into this light-filled space whilst honouring the building’s Georgian character. Bespoke cabinetry incorporates period-inspired mouldings, complemented by a custom coffered ceiling that balances natural light from the orangery. A tailored lighting scheme ensures the kitchen functions beautifully throughout the day. Modern appliances are fully integrated, including a refurbished AGA, whilst three strategically placed sinks enhance workflow. The island, with its curved ends and champagne trough, acts as both a practical workspace and a welcoming social hub.
The Snug:
A Contemporary Haven
Adjacent to the kitchen, a multifunctional snug was designed to serve as both a refined gin bar and a practical home office. Black walnut cabinetry introduces a contemporary contrast whilst remaining sympathetic to the wider scheme. Pocket doors allow the space to shift effortlessly between open and private use, while layered lighting adds atmosphere. A bespoke gin bar with optional colour-changing LED backlighting provides a distinctive and playful focal point.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms:
Sanctuaries of Elegance
The bedrooms and bathrooms have been transformed into calm, elegant retreats that balance Georgian character with modern comfort. Bespoke headboards sit comfortably within the period architecture, while custom wardrobes offer generous, considered storage. Bathrooms feature marble surfaces, period-appropriate fittings and bespoke mirrors, enhancing light and space. Carefully planned lighting throughout creates a warm and restorative atmosphere, completing these private sanctuaries.
