Every project follows a carefully considered process, while allowing the flexibility needed to respond to individual spaces and client requirements. What remains consistent throughout our approach is our commitment to thoughtful design along with clear communication – from concept through to completion.
Early involvement helps us maximise design potential, resolve complexities sooner and contribute more effectively to the wider project; drawing on decades of combined experience, our team identifies opportunities, solves challenges early and helps streamline the overall design and build process.
While we are equally comfortable working from architect’s plans or collaborating with interior designers, wherever possible the process begins with a visit to the property to discuss how the space will be used and what the client wants to achieve.
Understanding the room itself is only part of the process. Orientation, aspect, natural light, views and the relationship between adjoining spaces all play an important role in shaping the final design.
Clients are welcome to bring ideas, references and inspiration, but the consultation process is carefully guided to ensure every practical and aesthetic detail is fully considered from the outset. Detailed surveys and precise measurements are also carried out at this stage.
The design team develops and presents fully considered concepts using a combination of hand-drawn sketches, technical CAD drawings and advanced 3D visualisations. This helps clients understand not only how a space will look, but how it will feel and function.
During the presentation process, various finishes and details will be discussed, along with showing physical samples; sourced from around the world and may include any number of specialist finishes. These are presented within a bespoke mood box, which further allows the client to experience how the project is coming to life. The choice of available finishes is truly limitless.
After presenting the design, we provide a detailed quotation with a clear breakdown of costs before inviting a commissioning deposit.
Drawing on decades of design experience and material knowledge, the team then refines the finer details of the scheme, from fixtures, fittings and hardware to finishes, stains and colour palettes.
Combining degree-level qualifications across multiple design disciplines and with extensive experience at the highest level of the industry, the design team offers not only creative flair, but thoughtful, knowledgeable guidance throughout the entire process.
Many clients comment on how reassuring it is to be guided by an experienced team every step of the way – from the earliest ideas through to completion.
Once designs and specific material selections have all been approved, production begins. Being truly bespoke, however, we don’t have a library or stock of standard furniture, so this starts with compiling detailed drawings of all cabinets, along with components, ready for issuing to a team of our skilled cabinet-makers.
Every component is then carefully prepared by hand and the furniture items assembled, ready for finishing processes.
We typically purchase all of our timber and veneers raw ie unfinished, so that we can then apply and control the most appropriate finish for that particular project; this could be in sheen level, colour density etc.
Where hand-painting is required, we prime the furniture, then have our skilled decorative artists apply the additional thin top layers, again in the workshops, which reduces physical installation time on site. Our artists will then spend a couple of days or so finessing the furniture once fitted.
Where required, plumbing and electrical specifications are provided for builders and contractors, with the technical installation team available throughout the process to ensure all preparatory works are completed accurately. We also ensure a dedicated team member is always reachable by phone or email to support on-site trades as needed.
Our dedicated installation team carefully manages and coordinates every installation, working closely with contractors and other trades involved within the wider project.
Much of the detailed finishing work is completed within the workshop during the build phase,. This significantly reduces time spent on site, allowing installations to progress as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
All materials and workmanship are guaranteed for five years, but perhaps the strongest testimonial is that over two thirds of commissions come from repeat clients or personal recommendations.
